浙大AIF与浙大管院财会系于2017年12月开始推出博士生学术分享计划——“优博计划”,旨在通过搭建高层次的财会系博士生学术训练和学术分享平台,提升博士生的培养质量,促进博士生的学术交流,激发博士生的学术志趣,培养博士生的学术志向,塑造博士生的学术思想。该计划将主要通过博士生阶段性研究成果分享、前沿学术动态追踪、专题专家讲座、教师点评和科研经验分享、校际博士生交流等方式进行,每月定期举办。
5月7日(周一),浙大管院财会系博士生分享会——“优博计划”第五期将在浙江大学紫金港校区举办,诚挚邀请、热烈欢迎所有有兴趣的师生参加讨论并分享指导,共同促进财会系博士生学术能力和科研水平的提升。

嘉 宾 简 介
Paul Schulte is the founder and editor of Schulte Research, a company does research on banks, financial technology, bank algorithms and credit algorithms.He has had a career in equity research which spans 27 years on both the buy and sell sides covering the Asian and emerging markets. He also has 5 years of government policy experience in emerging markets. He has been frequently ranked in top-five positions in Euromoney, Asiamoney and Institutional Investor. In Institutional Investor’s 2010 poll, he received top rankings in All-Asia Banks Team, Asia Equity Strategy Team and Asia Economics Team.
Mr. Schulte was most recently at China Construction Bank Intl as Global Head of Financial Strategy and Asia Banks Research and based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was Managing Director and Head of Multi-Strategy and Asia-Pacific Banks Research for Nomura International. Prior to that, he was Chief Equity Strategist, Asia ex-Japan, for Lehman Brothers. He served from 2001 to 2006 as Portfolio Manager and Head of Research for GEMS equities at Big Sky Capital, a US$350 million global macro fund (Tiger Cub) of the Wynn Family funds in Los Angeles, California. At the same time, he was also a lecturer at the Hilton School of Business at Loyola Marymount University.
Prior to his time in Los Angeles, Mr. Schulte was Chief Asian Strategist for ING Baring Securities in Hong Kong (1996-2000). He also served as Chief Asian Strategist for CS First Boston in Hong Kong (1992-1996). In the 1980s, Mr. Schulte served as an Economic Policy Advisor to Indonesia’s central bank (Bank Indonesia) and before that as an Analyst with the National Security Council at the White House in Washington, DC.
Mr. Schulte graduated summa cum laude from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC with a B.A. in Philosophy in 1985. He received a Master of Arts in Political Economy in 1986, also from Catholic University, and then went on to earn a Master of Arts in International Finance in 1988 from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, a joint pr program with Tufts University and Harvard University.
On top of his research publishing career, Paul has 15 years of experience in teaching graduate students in several programs. He was an adjunct lecturer at the Conrad Hilton School of Business at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles from 2000 to 2006. From 2008 to the present, he has been teaching in various graduate programs at the University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong. These include the M.Sc., Executive MBA, as well as joint venture MBA programs with the Northwestern Kellogg School and the NYU Stern School. He also taught a seminar at the UCLA Anderson School. Most recently, he was chosen to be a Senior Fellow at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, a joint venture program with the Harvard Business School. His course include capital markets, banking cycles and behavioral finance.
Paul is a senior fellow at Tufts University, HKUST and SUSS in Singapore.His clients include some of the largest hedge funds globally. He works with several banks and insurance companies in Asia as well as two of the sovereign wealth funds. He is an advisor to IOSCO, the HKMA, the Malaysian SFC as well as the Thai SEC. He recently conducted a one week seminar for 55 Asian regulators on financial technology through the Asian Development Bank. His latest book is: “The Next Revolution in our Credit-Driven Economy: The Advent of Financial Technology.” His upcoming book is ” Cryptocurrency, FinTech, InsurTech, and Regulation “, in conjunction with SUSS. He focuses on research on the internet of things in China as well as Insurtech in China. Paul also has a credential in Counseling (specializing in drug and alcohol addiction) from Loyola Marymount University. He completed his internship at he UCLA School of Family Medicine. He is an avid tennis player and his avocation is military history.
